Terms — ClipLocale

How ClipLocale works, including minute packs, refunds, and use limits.

Last updated: 2026-10-07

What ClipLocale provides

ClipLocale creates timecoded captions from the audio in a locally selected video, translates caption text, and lets you review, edit, preview, and download original, translated, or bilingual SRT and VTT files. AI processing uses purchased minutes. Editing, previewing, and downloading completed captions do not consume additional minutes. Dubbing, rendered MP4 output, and cloud projects are outside this version's scope.

Supported containers are MP4, MOV, and WebM. There is no fixed whole-video duration or file-size cap. Support depends on the codec, your browser's decoding capabilities, and available device resources. Selecting a supported file extension does not guarantee the underlying codec can be processed. Use a current browser and keep the workspace open while a long video is processing.

Trying the workspace and signing in

Visitors can view, edit, preview, and download the prepared example, and can select a local video to check its duration and browser support, without signing in. These example and local inspection steps do not start AI processing or consume minutes. Google sign-in is required only when you choose to start real subtitle generation.

Your first Google sign-in receives one 300-second trial, without a payment method. Signing in again does not create another trial. AI processing needs a configured service and enough available minutes. When a video exceeds your balance, you can buy minutes or explicitly confirm processing only the opening duration covered by that balance. Only audio from the confirmed range is extracted and sent; the original video is not trimmed.

Minute packs and processing

ClipLocale currently offers one-time minute packs: 60 minutes for $9, 180 minutes for $19, and 480 minutes for $39. Each purchased pack is valid for 365 days after verified payment. The pricing page and checkout show the applicable pack, price, taxes if any, and final amount before purchase.

There is no subscription, automatic renewal, or automatic recharge. Each pack is a separate one-time purchase. Minutes cover the AI processing described on the pricing page; editing, previewing, and downloading do not use minutes.

Request safeguards apply separately from your balance. A missing configuration, unsupported codec, network problem, or upstream failure may prevent completion. Completed chunks remain in the current tab. Cancelling a processing run releases only minutes reserved for audio that has not yet been sent. Successfully processed audio is charged. An uncertain in-flight result requires reconciliation and is not automatically charged again.

Refunds and cancellation

Within 7 calendar days after purchase, you may request a full refund for an entire minute pack that remains completely unused. Used minutes are generally not refundable. We will also review duplicate charges, a verified failure to deliver the service, and any refund or consumer rights that applicable law requires.

To request a refund, email support@cliplocale.com from your account email with the transaction ID and a short reason. Do not send a password, payment-card details, or media. A request is not an automatic refund. After verification and approval, Waffo returns the approved amount through the original payment method; the timing depends on that payment channel. Refunded minutes are withdrawn from the related pack.

Because packs are one-time purchases, there is no recurring plan to cancel. You may stop using the service at any time. Cancelling a processing run or leaving checkout does not itself reverse a completed payment; the rules above apply to order refunds.

Your content and responsibility

Only process audio and text you are entitled to use and send to external AI services. You remain responsible for the material you choose and for how you use exported captions.

Transcription and translation can contain errors. Review the words, language, and timing before publishing or relying on them. Sample captions are examples and are not an AI result for your selected video.

Suspension and termination

You must not use ClipLocale for fraud, unlawful activity, or to interfere with the service or its security. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, including those kinds of conduct. When reasonable, we will give notice and provide a way to ask support to review the decision. If we end access for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused prepaid portion. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that applicable law does not allow us to limit.

Availability, disclaimers, and liability

ClipLocale is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free processing, or the accuracy of AI-generated captions or translations. Review results before relying on or publishing them.

To the extent permitted by law, ClipLocale is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Our total liability for a claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid to ClipLocale in the 12 months before the event giving rise to that claim. These limits do not apply where applicable law does not allow a liability exclusion or limit.

Workspace and data handling

This workspace is temporary. Refreshing or leaving loses the selected video and captions. Download completed results before leaving. Cancelling stops local work and aborts pending browser requests, but cannot recall data already received by an upstream provider.

The video remains on your device. Audio chunks and caption text are forwarded for AI processing under the boundaries described in the privacy page. Upstream services may retain data according to their policies; this tool does not promise zero retention.
